Need Inspo? Run, Don’t Walk to These Seattle Spaces

As we lay down our roots in Seattle, we’ve been nomads wandering the city for all that it is worth. In typical Sifted style, we’ve hosted most of our meetings in the corner of a bakery, in the lobby of a coworking center or on a park bench.
If you’re scheming for an afternoon out of the office or planning a getaway to Seattle, these are the places we recommend.
The Center For Wooden Boats
Perhaps the best place to soak in inspiration (and most obvious in Seattle) is on the water. If you visit the CWB on Sunday, you can avoid the fees that accompany boat rides. There are few more idyllic ways to get on your sea legs and let your mind roam.
Makers Coworking Space
Perhaps a not-so-well-kept-secret, Makers, which is housed close to Pike Place Market, is an expansive workspace with the amenities, sociality and proximity that makes a membership worth it. Visit the space for a tour or join up if you want to be surrounded by ambition, energy and constant sounding boards for all of your dangerously good ideas.
Discovery Park
This shore-lined park is the largest in Seattle, and it’s worth all the hype. If your brain is feeling overcrowded or maybe the big city has you feeling claustrophobic, Discovery Park will make you feel like you are a million miles away. We recommend setting aside two to three hours for a solo hike as the trails tend to run a bit long.
Ballard Farmers Market
As a team dedicated to serving locally-grown food to companies, we naturally hit up the farmers market first thing. What we love about Ballard is that it is year-round, outside on a cobblestone street and the selection is extensive.
A staple in Seattle and a Tom Douglass brainchild, Dahlia is a sweet and savory breakfast and lunch escape. We’ve satisfied some cravings here and found a way to take a few phone calls and hammer away at some work as well.
Have some places you recommend as we get acquainted to Seattle? Let us know! @siftedco
